His debut novel, Season of the Sickness, was published in January 2023 and has since received rave reviews for its atmospheric storytelling and haunting tone.

Having spent time in Hollywood working in and around filmmaking, Vaughn approaches storytelling with a cinematic mindset, often envisioning his work through the eyes of sitting in a darkened theater watching the story unfold on the big screen. A resident of the Pacific Northwest, Vaughn grew up both rock and mountain climbing and has summited Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, and Mount Hood. When not writing, he can often be found sailing the Puget Sound or skiing snow-covered slopes from Washington to Colorado. He is also an avid lover of music, filmmaking, and art.
